October 8 2025 11:29am • Est. Read Time: 3 MIN

Pacing and Table Access work together to determine your reservation availability, what appears online to guests and what's bookable in-house. Update both settings to limit or maximize seating.

## **\#\#\# How to Update Table Availabilities**

Reservation availability is based on the tables on your floorplan in each shift. Each table has an attribute; online, in-house, or walk-in access that determines reservation availability. Build your books by adjusting your table attributes in the dashboard.

#### **Edit Availability for a Recurring Base Shift:**

1. Visit the [Resy Dashboard](https://os.resy.com/portal/venues).
2. Click "Service" from the left-hand menu options.
3. Click 'Shift Settings' from the drop-down menu options.
4. Click the three dots icon next to the shift you'd like to edit and choose "Edit Shift".
5. Click "Step 3 Availability" on the left-hand side of the shift editor.

#### **Update Availability by table or room in the shift editor:**

To standardize all tables with the same attribute:

1. Select "Online", "In-House", or "Walk-in" for the Table Type.
2. This will make all tables with that Table Type the same attribute.

To assign attribute to individual tables:

1. Click on the carrot icon next to the table types (Bar, Dining Room, etc.) to view and assign each Table Attribute.

**Please note:** The "Mixed" attribute cannot be selected. This only indicates that tables have a mix of availability settings throughout the shift. Tables that have 2+ attributes assigned throughout the shift will automatically be designated as "Mixed".

#### **Edit Availability for a Single Day or Shift**

1. First, you'll log on to the [Dashboard](https://os.resy.com/portal/venues) using Chrome.
2. Click "Service" from the left-hand menu options.
3. Click "Calendar" from the drop-down menu options.
4. Click on the date you'd like to edit and select "Step 3 Availability".

When you've completed a "single day edit" you'll see the edit reflected on the calendar date.

#### **Assign different availability attributes for different times on a specific table throughout the shift**

1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "More Customization".
2. From here you'll see a list of your tables on the left side along with any table combinations you have in place.
3. Click on the 15-minute increments you'd like to assign an attribute to and select from the table attributes on the bottom of the screen to assign.
4. Click on "Update Availability" in the bottom-right corner to close out the window.
5. To finalize edits to availability, click "Update Shift" in the bottom-right corner of the shift editor to save your changes.

## **\#\#\#\# How to Update Pacing**

Your pacing determines the maximum amount of covers bookable online every 15 minutes throughout your shift. Reservation times with pacing at capacity won't be bookable online. When booking in-house, pacing will turn red when it has reached capacity as a visual indicator to choose/offer a more optimal time. Internally, you can make reservations that exceed pacing.

**Edit Pacing for a Recurring Base Shift**

1. First, you'll log on to the [Dashboard](https://os.resy.com/portal/venues) using Chrome.
2. Click "Service" from the left-hand menu options.
3. Click "Shift Settings" from the drop-down menu options.
4. Click the three dots icon next to the shift you'd like to edit and choose "Edit".
5. Click "Pacing" on the left-hand side of the shift editor.

**Please note:** The pacing section in the shift editor will show you the pacing you currently have set for the shift.

**Customize Pacing by Time throughout the Shift**

1. Click '"Customize Intervals" and scroll down.
2. Enter a pacing value every 15 minutes throughout the shift.
3. When you've completed your edits to pacing, click "Update Shift" in the bottom-right corner of the shift editor.

**Tip:** If you prefer consistent pacing every 15 minutes throughout your shift, you can enter the pacing value in the field shown. This will set your pacing to this value from the first to last seating time for this shift.

**Edit Pacing for a Single Day or Shift**

1. Visit the [Resy Dashboard](https://os.resy.com/portal/venues).
2. Click "Service" from the left-hand menu options.
3. Click "Calendar" from the drop-down.
4. Click on the date you'd like to edit and select "Single day edit".
5. Select the shift.
6. Follow the steps above to edit your pacing.

When you've completed a "single day edit" you'll see the edit reflected on the calendar date.

#### **Edit Pacing by Floorplan**

Pacing can now be adjusted by floorplan in ResyOS. This will allow you to account for factors such as space constraints, server availability, and customer preference.

1. Visit the [Resy Dashboard](https://os.resy.com/portal/venues).
2. Click "Service" from the left-hand menu options.
3. Click "Shift Settings" from the drop-down.
4. Click the three dots icon next to the shift you'd like to edit and choose "Edit".
5. Click 'Pacing' on the left-hand side of the shift editor.
6. Click “Customize Pacing by Floorplan” beneath current pacing settings.

You can always return to global pacing, which applies to all floorplans collectively, after setting floorplan specific pacing limits. To do so, clear out the "Covers per 15 Minute" text box in Step 2 of your service settings.
