This rooftop bar and bistro from Michael Rafidi, the award-winning chef behind Albi and Yellow, promises funky Levantine vibes, and it delivers. From the hidden doorway to dishes like foie gras with pickled huckleberries, orange-blossom jam, and ras el hangout beignets, expect the unexpected. In the alley between Morse Street NE and Florida Avenue, listen for the sound of Levantine funk and look for the green door, to find the entrance to La' Shukran. Climb the stairs to find a second floor bistro, bar, and rooftop terrace.
Reservations are highly encouraged, habibis. Bar seats may be reserved early in the evening, with the later part of the night held for walk-ins. Our seasonal rooftop tables are released day-of—or a few days ahead, depending on the weather, and any unreserved tables will gladly be accommodated for walk-ins. Beneath an arched, stained glass sign at the rear of a historic building in Union Market, a green door leads to a hallway where the sounds an Arabic souk drift down a long flight of tiled stairs leading to La’ Shukran - a modern reimagining of a Left-Bank watering hole, a retro-modern late-night restaurant transported from Al-Bireh to Washington, D.C.
