Why We Like It

This savvy import from the West Coast to the West Village features sustainable seafood and natural wines. Here, chef Brian Bornemann and artist Leena Culhane of Crudo e Nudo in Santa Monica, Calif. take over the same space that’s Breakfast by Salt’s Cure (also from L.A.) earlier in the day. Pro tip: Do try to stop by for the daily happy hour from 5 to 6 p.m. and get the daily crudo special.

About Bella Dea

Bella Dea is a sustainable seafood restaurant and wine bar in the heart of West Village from Chef Brian Bornemann and artist Leena Culhane. Born from the success of their California-based Crudo e Nudo, Bella Dea continues the progressive business model of shared labor and profit, with little delineation between front and back of house. The menu sources local, line-caught seafood exclusively from the East Coast, as well as biodynamic and low-intervention wines from the Old and New World.
