About Strange Delight
A contemporary take on the classic New Orleans seafood restaurant and oyster bar, located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, near BAM, Barclay's, the Paramount, and Atlantic Terminal. Strange Delight finds its influence in New Orleans and is also inspired by the rich history of oysters in New York. Our menu consists of regional seafood prepared in a variety of styles: Charbroiled Oysters and Shrimp Remoulade share the stage with classic seafood towers and BBQ Shrimp. A rotating selection of larger plates features items such as Crab Dirty Rice and Blackened Swordfish Belly.

It’s New Orleans cuisine done right: The seafood-focused menu from chef Ham El-Waylly is filled with things like charbroiled oysters and shrimp loaf milk bread sandwiches, and manages to be both classic and creative.

We offer three distinct seating areas:
- Front Room - either at a high-top table or our kitchen counter, all of which have backless stools.
- Bar - seats at our cocktail bar in the Main Dining Room.
- Main Dining - a table in the back dining room.
