Why We Like It

GupShup is like stepping foot inside 1970s Bombay, with all the swank and chatter. But it’s what’s on the plates that deserves the attention. Chef Gurpreet Singh (from New Delhi’s acclaimed Indian Accent) presents modern Indian dishes unlike anything you’d expect — order the paneer cheese rolls if you know what’s good for you — while also rendering the classics beautifully. Simply put: This remains one of the city's most exciting destinations for Indian food.

Need to Know

Please note we don't carry high chairs at Gupshup. We also do not have additional space for strollers inside the restaurant. During busier nights and especially on weekends, bringing kids below 12 years is not recommended.

We request that you invite your guests to your Resy reservation, so we can better communicate with everyone regarding any changes.

Reservation Policy: Please note we provide 90 minutes seating time to parties of 1-3 people, and 120 minutes to parties of 4-5, 150 minutes to parties 6 or more. All guests must be present for parties to be seated. If you are running late, please call us at 212-518-7313. We hold the table for a grace period of 15 minutes before offering the reservation to our waitlist.

About GupShup

GupShup, meaning "Chit-Chat or hanging out" is a commonly used slang in the South Asian dialect. It's "not your average" modern Indian hangout, and our focus has been to marry Indian flavors with a modern twist. The bi-level space is an ode to 1970's Bombay mansion with brass, gold, wood and antique mirrors and chandeliers throughout both floors, with household belongings throughout the space. GupShup aims to bring a piece of romance and nostalgia from Bombay to the Big Apple.
