Why We Like It
It’s theater-goer institution Marseille's little sibling, housed right within the same space. It’s a bit more casual than the former, but still serves up classic cocktails and little bites perfect for a pre-show meal.

Just beneath the glow of Marseille's dining room in Hell's Kitchen, you'll find Bar Bas: part French hideaway, part New York neighborhood destination. No pressure, pas de chichis — just great drinks, good music, and exceptional company.
Early in the evening we welcome theatergoers for prix-fixe dining before Broadway's curtains go up. As the night moves on and the lights dim, the room fills with neighborhood regulars, visitors and friends of the industry, stopping in for one drink that has a habit of turning into two. We add our own Riviera accent to classic cocktails, and are proud to play host to an established zero-proof program, and equally robust Champagne selection. With a night-long menu of French-inspired bar snacks, and music from some of the city's best DJs on the weekend, Bar Bas is home to an after-dark rhythm bien à nous.
