About Backyard Bistro
At Backyard Bistro in Charlotte, chef-owner Adam Spell cooks across influences with one constant: almost everything is made by hand, right down to the burger buns. We’re known for great steaks, Misty Knoll chicken, and a Thai curry bowl that’s developed a following — and the smash burgers and fish tacos keep regulars coming back. You’ll also find fresh-caught New England calamari and salads built on local lettuce, alongside a slow-cooked Bolognese that’s anchored the menu from day one and wood-fired pizza from the oven.
Much of what reaches the plate starts close to home: we source from Head Over Fields Farm and other Vermont growers, so the menu shifts with the season. With 39 years on the line, Adam is here cooking every service.
Settle in at the bar, in the dining room, or under the tent and lawn seating when the weather’s right. Limited seating, so reservations are recommended. Dine-in, takeout, and catering are all available — and we’d love to host your rehearsal dinner, birthday, or private event.
