Why We Like It

The fishing motif is subtle, but it’s there (baleia means “whale” in Portuguese), which makes sense: The sibling of superstars The Salty Pig, SRV, and Gufo leans on seafood, and no one can fault a great raw bar selection. Ever.

Need to Know

Validation available for the lot located under the overpass at 274 Albany Street, Boston, MA 02118 (between Traveler and E. Berkeley Street). $5 for 3 hours with validation. We do not offer valet. Additionally, Harrison Ave has metered parking and there is the Ink Block Underground where you can pay by the hour.

Broadway is the closest MBTA for the red line. Tufts New England is the closest MBTA stop for the orange line.

About Baleia

Baleia means "whale" in Portuguese. The name is a reference to the great whale watching region in southern Portugal. Baleia is a Portuguese-inspired restaurant that features an all-Portuguese wine list and a bar program that pays homage to Portuguese port cities around the world.
