Why We Like It

Steven Satterfield's reputation is well deserved: His cooking has jolted Southern cooking into the modern age, with philosophy that manages to embrace sustainability as much as tradition. (The farm baked egg in celery cream is a cult favorite for a reason.) Satterfield is also one of Atlanta's wine-attuned chefs, and the ever-changing list, handled by co-owner Neal McCarthy, features two dozen pours by the glass on any given day.

About Miller Union

Miller Union takes its name from the historic Miller Union Stockyards, which once spanned an entire city block in Atlanta’s 1880s meatpacking district. Housed in a thoughtfully refurbished warehouse, the restaurant was established in 2009 by Steven Satterfield and Neal McCarthy and has since become a beloved fixture in Atlanta’s culinary scene.

Known for its unwavering commitment to sustainability, Miller Union works closely with local farmers and producers, earning it a place on numerous top 100 lists across the nation. In 2017, Steven Satterfield was honored as “Best Chef: Southeast” by the James Beard Foundation. The restaurant was also a James Beard Foundation Awards finalist for “Outstanding Wine Program” in 2019 and 2020, and Executive Pastry Chef Claudia Martinez was recognized as a 2022 finalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef.
