We are located inside Umi Modern Japanese. Our omakase experience is a chef-driven menu centered around raw and cooked seafood, sushi rice, and traditional Japanese ingredients, and as such we are unable to accommodate fish or shellfish allergies, soy or gluten allergies, seaweed or dashi allergies, rice or vinegar allergies, vegetarian or vegan diets, aversions to raw fish or seafood, religious or ethical dietary requirements (including kosher or halal), or severe allergies requiring strict cross-contamination prevention; by booking, guests acknowledge that substitutions are limited and the menu cannot be modified for these restrictions.

Born in Nagasaki, Japan, Chef Kazuo Yoshida has been a pioneer of omakase dining in the U.S. since arriving in New York City in 1992. Affectionately known as the “Uni King,” he has spent over three decades shaping the sushi landscape through acclaimed roles at Jewel Bako, SUSHISAMBA, 1 or 8, MYUMI, and JUKU. With his signature “Kazu-style”—a balance of bold creativity and meticulous craftsmanship—he now brings his lifelong philosophy, “No Sushi, No Life,” to Atlanta.

This vision comes to life in our intimate 8-seat White Yaki Sugi Omakase Room, created in collaboration with Tom Dixon, Design Research Studio, and Gareth Payne Design Studios. Anchored by a one-of-a-kind Todd Murphy painting, the room provides a refined stage for Chef Kazuo and his team to deliver an unforgettable dining experience—where every detail, from space to cuisine, is designed to be as rare and memorable as the omakase itself.
