Opening
Georgetown
The Oak Room
Head here for a classically American meal from acclaimed chef Timothy Hollingsworth ( Per Se, The French Laundry) in a beautiful space to match, with brick-lined ceilings, plush leather chairs, and a proper dress code. And do know you can get a Bernadette’s wagyu cheeseburger here, too.

Opening
Georgetown
Bernadette's
A sumptuous evening is in store for you at Bernadette’s, where the walls are lined in red velvet and live music plays nearly every night. Oh, and they serve a mean wagyu cheeseburger and hot fudge bourbon caramel sundae.
New
Opening
Chevy Chase
Wheelhouse
Those flags lining the ceiling are of the sailing variety, which matches the appropriately seafood-centric menu of oysters casino, raw clams, and Maryland crab soup. So, go ahead. Anchors away, as you please.
New
Opening

Maison Breizh
Brittany, France comes stateside at Maison Breizh, where the buckwheat galettes are filled with housemade crumbled sausage and the delicate crepes are slathered with butter and sugar.
Bethesda
Bacchus of Lebanon
For half a century, Bacchus’ year-round patio has hosted Washingtonians enjoying rice stuffed zucchini, spiced chicken liver, and lamb chops throughout every season.
H Street, Capitol Hill
Cynthia Bar and Bistro
Ideal for making a casual weeknight meal special, Cynthia is light-filled and lovely. Don’t skip the cocktails or the Chesapeake hush puppies.
Arlington
The Landing Kitchen and Bar
This is a hotel bar with some serious history: It’s housed in the original home of the Stouffer’s Hotel (in their words, “yes, the infamous mac and cheese people”), and they still serve a lovely and excellent menu of classics, after all these years.

Uchi DC
Meaning “house” in Japanese, Uchi comes to us from James Beard Award-winning chef Tyson Cole, who spent more than a decade training under sushi masters in Tokyo, New York, and Austin before opening his first Uchi in Austin in 2003. No matter which location you visit, expect to find fresh, flavorful, and inventive takes on Japanese cuisine.
New
Opening
McLean
Café Monet
At this aptly named spot housed at the McLean Project for the Arts, you can enjoy everything from savory braised fennel and filling penne pomodoro to a decadent chocolate torte.
New
Opening
16th Street Heights/Brightwood
Three Whistles
What can’t Three Whistles do? It’s got espresso and workspace by day, with comfort food and cocktails by night. Plus, they have live music on Friday and Saturday, if you need yet another reason.
Shaw
The Dabney
In its mission to highlight the food of the Mid-Atlantic region, The Dabney excels fiercely. That most of its hyper-seasonal dishes are cooked in a wood-burning hearth in the open kitchen makes it all the more thrilling. You can always count on chef Jeremiah Langhorne to find some of D.C.’s most incredible ingredients, which have included everything from wild local hazelnuts and sarsaparilla to local rockfish from the Chesapeake Bay.
New
Opening
Navy Yard
Catahoula DC
This Cajun and Creole dining experience is rooted in the Big Easy’s culinary traditions, and offers epic riverfront views of the Anacostia River. Revelers will want to gather around the “boil garden,” which hosts crawfish seafood boils alongside frozen cocktails, and offers a lively open-air atmosphere.
Bethesda
Not Your Average Joe's – Bethesda
It’s an empire of (from scratch) kitchens serving up comforting fare from lobster rolls to Buffalo chicken pies. Don’t forget the buttermilk biscuit strawberry shortcake for dessert, if you know what’s good for you.
New
Opening
Shaw
Techo Palma
Take a walk on the wild side for a night at Techo Palma, where the cocktails flow and the vibes can only be described as tropical oasis. Sip your margarita and take a seat.
Washington D.C.
Bammy's Modern Caribbean
Take a Caribbean cruise without ever leaving the mainland — all you have to do is make the trip to Bammy’s. Order a Painkiller and some jerk wings and you’re golden.
Washington
Pupatella Neapolitan Pizza – Capitol Hill
It’s part of a mini empire of wood-fired pizzerias ideal for both a casual weeknight dinner or a special date night. What started as a food truck has since expanded many times over, offering plenty of Neapolitan-style options like the classic margherita.

KIYOMI
Sushi Nakazawa alum Masaaki “Uchi” Uchino built his reputation on high end omakase, and now he’s channeling his skills into this handsome yet affordable 16-seat downtown sushi counter. Walk in at lunch for seven nigiri plus a hand roll (think: yuzu-garlic yellowtail, soy-braised black cod) and miso soup with unctuous house-made fish stock, all for a cool $40. Dinner ups the ante with 15 courses for $135, while an incoming sake program is gunning to be DC’s deepest with some 50 international pours by the glass.
Arlington
Maison Cheryl
Named after chef-owner Robert Maher’s late mother-in-law and steeped in French technique, this beloved breezy bistro pulls off the unexpected: upmarket cuisine served in the most approachable of spaces. A contemporary spin on classic duck à l’orange — skin scored, crispy-seared, and finished with a soulful blood orange gastrique — is the obvious headliner, but don’t overlook the bucatini with bright zucchini herb sauce and oozy fried burrata. Nightly happy hour keeps folks coming back — as do baked-to-order madeleines with orange-spiked crème chantilly.
Southwest Waterfront
Zooz
If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if Dubai and Miami raised a nightlife love child on the D.C. waterfront, Zooz is your answer. The Azzouz brothers (Urban Roast) stepped it up a notch with this bottle service go-to, with its star-lit ceilings, beachy pink accents, abundant florals, and roaming bar carts delivering theatrical tableside cocktails. The tightly curated Asian-inspired menu is fit for a crowd, stocked with A5 wagyu nigiri and overstuffed signature rolls to keep the revelers raving.

The Boulevard
Athens-born D.C. nightlife titan Antonis Karagounis (Ultrabar, Decade) has crossed the river for another ambitious project: an 8,000-square-foot DJ-fueled supper club and beachy rooftop bar with unmissable sunset views. Downstairs, the kitchen cranks out crowd-pleasers like king salmon tiradito with mango and yuzu leche de tigre plus ocean-fresh sushi and an indulgent bistro burger. Upstairs, loungers let loose with bold cocktails from Service Bar legend Glendon Hartley. Clarendon is officially ready to party.
“ Rosselli is all in on a Metro Center revival, promising to charm the after-work crowd with Michelin-caliber Italian fare and a sleek marble bar ideal for late-night lingering.” – Meredith Paige Heil

Rosselli
Knightsbridge Restaurant Group’s Ashok Bajaj ( Rasika, Bombay Club) is fortifying downtown D.C. with this Italian concept inside the same Metro Center corner that housed Bajaj’s recently shuttered Modena. A redesigned interior by Martin Vahtra ushers in an elegant U-shaped bar positioned to capture the post-work crowd, while chef Carlos Cardona — fresh off a stint at Hong Kong’s two-Michelin starred NOI by Paulo Airaudo — brings his culinary stylings to a fashionably intimate dining room.

Dok Khao Thai – Alexandria
DMV heavy-hitter Pattana Restaurant Group ( Tiki Thai) is back, and this time they’re taking their high-wattage Thai street food concept to Oakville with Dok Khao’s fifth location. Like its popular predecessors, chef Porntipa “Pat” Pattanamekar’s menu runs on warmth and precision, from standouts like crispy whole branzino doused in tangy tamarind chile to staples like plump gyoza, bright larb gai, and Southern-style pad Thai backed by a secret family recipe. Through it all, seasonality remains the driver, with house-grown herbs complimenting verdant indoor greenery.
