Outdoor Dining

Le Bilboquet Sag Harbor
Sag Harbor
What happens when a French Upper East Side institution goes to the Hamptons? You get a St. Tropez vibe, a legendary Cajun chicken, and waterside views, best enjoyed with a dozen oysters at hand.
Alba Spiaggia
Montauk
The food is just as exquisite as the waterfront views at this yacht club on Montauk where chef Adam Leonti cooks up a seafood-centric Italian menu. Don’t skip the wood-fired pizzas, handmade pastas, and spritzes.
Mavericks Montauk
Montauk
Head here for one of the best views in the area, even in inclement that calls for indoor seating, thanks to their wraparound windows. They also have a menu of elevated surf and turf classics like Nova Scotia lobster and New York strip steak.
Bounce Beach Montauk
Montauk Beach
Casual fare, waterfront vistas, and DJ sets come together at Bounce Beach, which took over the location of infamous beach bar The Sloppy Tuna. Get there early and order your frosé on the double as the crowds are ever-growing or, arrive late (after 10 p.m.) on Saturdays and Sunday for the full club experience.
Note: Bounce Beach opens for the season on May 22.
Dockers Waterside Marina & Restaurant
The Hamptons
A trusted Dune Road gem for more than three decades, Dockers has one of the most enviable dining setups right on the water. This is the place for cheddar-topped Parker House rolls along with lobster rolls, but if you’re looking for something even more beachy and fun, consider heading to their food truck.
Si Si
East Hampton
It’s obviously a double yes from us, especially when you consider their signature paella and bucatini verde loaded with lobster. Bonus? It’s housed in the EHP hotel, which happens to be right on the marina.
Note: Si Si opens for the season on May 21.
Cowfish | Hampton Bays
Hampton Bays
As the name suggests, surf and turf is on full display here, with a menu that features everything from sesame-crusted tuna and shrimp pamplona to burgers and baby back ribs. The views of the water are also hard to beat.
Saylor Beach House
Greenport
This Mediterranean-esque spot on Claudio’s Marina boasts an all-star team that includes an STK co-founder and a pop star, with all the results you’d expect from such a duo. Snack on local clams, feta baked in crispy filo, and a simply prepared catch of the day with capers and lemon, and don’t forget a glass of something chilled and sparkling. If you happen to be arriving by yacht, our invitation must have gotten lost in the mail, but do check out their elevated picnic offerings for onboard dining.
Date Night

Nourish by The Roundtree
Bridgehampton
Some serious star power is on full display at Nourish by The Roundtree. In the kitchen, chef Dewa Wijaya is cooking a menu that highlights both Hamptons’ produce and his Balinese heritage. And behind the bar is Takuma Watanabe, the founder of Manhattan’s acclaimed cocktail bar Martiny’s. In practice, this encompasses dishes such as chilled sweet corn soup, slow-cooked beef short rib in curry sauce, and cocktails made with foraged botanicals and housemade kombucha.
Tutto il Giorno Southampton
Southampton
At this elegant respite, you and your loved one can feast on Southern Italian specialties surrounded by lush greenery and the soft glow of string lights. We’re partial to the ever-changing risotto preparation, poached branzino, and an order of pane carasau (Sardinian flatbread) for the table.
Sant Ambroeus – East Hampton
East Hampton
Sant Ambroeus originally opened as a pastry shop and confectionery in Milan in 1936, arriving in Manhattan for the first time in 1982. Since then, it’s been delighting New Yorkers with its elegant, all-day takes on Italian classics, from tagliatelle cacio e pepe and vitello tonnato to espresso. This elegant East Hampton location is ideal for a date night.
Wayan Hamptons
East Hampton
It’s the fourth year running for this pop-up from chef Cédric Vongerichten and his wife and business partner, Ochi Vongerichten, taking place from May 21 to September 6. Here, he’s crafted a menu inspired by Indonesia that brings the very best of both restaurants to the Hamptons. If you’re arriving by boat, don’t fret — you can dock right nearby at the EHP Resort & Marina.
Lulu Kitchen and Bar
Sag Harbor
The wood-burning oven and grill are a focal point of the cuisine at this year-round Sag Harbor bistro. Order accordingly: Don’t miss the grilled whole branzino or lunch-only wood-fired pizzas. To start, get a half-dozen Montauk Pearls and their wood-roasted cauliflower served with spicy Long Island grapes, yogurt, and Aleppo pepper.
Il Buco Al Mare
Amagansett
When the il Buco team heads to Amagansett, you know you’re in for a treat: Local seafood finished in a wood-fired oven, tinned fish straight out of the Iberian Peninsula, and a bunch of spruced up next-door produce.
Nick & Toni's
East Hampton
If you can swing a table on the porch, do it (get that outdoors booking slot!). There’s nothing quite like a plate of pasta al fresco at this Tuscan-inspired, see-or-be-seen staple.
Stone Creek Inn
The Hamptons
An East Quogue standby and fine-dining gem, Stone Creek Inn brings out the romance with top-notch service, and an impeccable French-leaning menu. Don’t sleep on the soft-shell crabs when they’re in season.
Pierre's
Bridgehampton
Dress up: Pierre’s is home to one well-heeled crowd imbibing in dirty martinis and a sensational, seafood-heavy menu that looks to coastal France.
Jean-Georges at Topping Rose House
Bridgehampton
A seasonal, vegetable-forward Jean-Georges meal in a 19th-century mansion surrounded by its one-acre farm? Yes, please. The bucolic estate at Topping Rose House is something else.
Flora – Westhampton Beach
Westhampton Beach
A charming and cozy ambiance complements the bright, floral-driven fare here. Don’t sleep on the blackberry roasted duck breast or the pear and watercress salad.
The Hampton Maid & R.AIRE
Hampton Bays
This charming boutique hotel is home to one of the best restaurants in town for Spanish tapas, as well as an inventive, ever-changing tasting menu. On the a la carte menu you’ll find paella, patatas bravas, and blistered shishitos, and the tasting menu might feature courses like grilled Iberico pork, spicy shrimp carpaccio, and even a kangaroo filet.
Ivy On Main
Westhampton Beach
Tuscan kale salads, aged duck breast with pinot noir jus, and French onion gnocchi are just a few of the expertly executed dishes you’ll find at this Westhampton Beach restaurant led by chef Andrew Hartmann.
Good Ground Tavern
Hampton Bays
Exceptional food awaits you at Canoe Place Inn: Think Peconic Bay clam pizza pies, halibut en brioche, and lime and chile aioli shrimp toast. Choose from a variety of settings, too, ranging from the Good Ground Tavern and the Bottle Room (ideal for small groups) to the lovely outdoor terrace.
Group Dining
Camp Rubirosa brings New York’s much-loved Italian restaurant to the Hamptons. Photo courtesy of Rubirosa
Camp Rubirosa, Presented by Resy
East Hampton
New York City’s much-loved Rubirosa is heading back to the Hamptons. They’re popping up for Camp Rubirosa in the former home of The Laundry, serving their classic dishes under an aptly chosen menagerie of banners from various summer camps. Enjoy their classic tie-dye pies and Sunday sauce al fresco.
The Surf Lodge
Montauk
A reliable go-to for your crew should you find yourselves in Montauk, The Surf Lodge, housed in the hotel of the same name, offers prime waterfront views and bites to match.
Note: The Surf Lodge opens for the season during Memorial Day weekend.
Swifty's at The Hedges Inn
East Hampton
The Hedges Inn is now home to the ever-evolving and much-beloved Swifty’s, which first opened in New York City and then in Palm Beach, Fla. Expect the same classic food and practiced service, and a menu with their famous “designer meatloaf,” curried chicken salad, and jumbo Maryland lump crab cakes for their Hamptons outpost.
Frankie's Fabulous Italiano
East Hampton
The former Little Charli East is now Frankie’s Fabulous Italiano, featuring superb wood-fired pizzas and expertly executed Italian classics, from pasta to chicken parm and eggplant lasagna. Do bring a crew and be ready to feast.
Serafina East Hampton
East Hampton
For a dependable crowd-pleaser (particularly when it comes to younger diners), look no further than Serafina. Their lobster ravioli and veal scaloppine always hit the spot and on the way out, stock your pantry with their housemade pesto and Bolognese sauces, and their proprietary pizza kit.
Rosie's
Amagansett
Rosie’s is just what you want at the start of your day. Their brunch is filled with classics like havarti egg sandwiches, avocado toast, and pancakes. It’s so good you may come back for dinner — and if you do, try the burger with bacon and caramelized onions and the baked garlic shrimp.
Sant Ambroeus – Southampton
Southampton
Sant Ambroeus originally opened as a pastry shop and confectionery in Milan in 1936, arriving in Manhattan for the first time in 1982. Since then, it’s been delighting New Yorkers with its elegant, all-day takes on Italian classics, from tonnarelli cacio e pepe and vitello tonnato to espresso. The Southampton location takes its design cues from Italy in the ’60s and ’70s.
The American Hotel
Sag Harbor
This historic Sag Harbor hotel is home to a restaurant with an eclectic menu of American and French classics that’ll be sure to please anyone. Think lobster bisque with cognac, Long Island duck a la bigarade, and grilled Australian lamb chops.
Page Sag Harbor
Sag Harbor
Page at Sag Harbor is where you go when you want a meal that’s sure to satisfy with its contemporary, globally inspired takes on American cuisine. Open daily, their dishes range from from charred octopus with ‘nduja and local oysters on the half shell to a duck confit with orange gastrique.
Fauna
Westhampton Beach
A cozy ambiance complements the hearty New American fare here. Don’t sleep on the almond-crusted flounder or the garlic brown sugar popovers, and if you really want to splurge, do consider the show stopping chateaubriand.
Rumba | Hampton Bays
Hampton Bays
Should you find yourself longing for a taste of the tropics, Rumba is the place to be, thanks to its extensive menu of mojitos and rum-based cocktails, as well as Caribbean spiced wings, jerk chicken, and coconut shrimp.
75 Main
Hamptons
James Beard Award-winning chef Mark Militello delivers a crowd-pleasing menu of favorites guaranteed to satisfy everyone in your crew, from jumbo lump crab cakes and a triple prime burger to spaghetti alla nerano.
Highway Restaurant
East Hampton
From the minds that brought the city Charlie Bird and Shuko comes Highway, a bona fide crowd-pleaser with a global menu ranging from Korean chicken buns and a papaya and crab salad to pasta and a cheeseburger that can’t be beat.
Fresno
East Hampton
Dining on contemporary American fare on Fresno’s landscaped patio is the place to be. Order some salmon tartare and grilled Berkshire pork chops for the table and know that the baguettes are always baked fresh on the daily.
Union Burger Bar
Southampton
Along with 14 burger varieties and a build-your-own option, Union Burger Bar’s all-day menu also includes salads, tacos, and much more. You’re going to want to stop by during happy hour, Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., for $6 beers. And on Wednesdays, their burger is just $5.
Rita Cantina
Springs
Chef Eric Miller, also behind the now-closed but former local favorite Bay Kitchen Bar, puts forth a lively menu of standout Mexican dishes, perfect for sharing with a group. Don’t sleep on anything from the raw bar like the oyster aguachile or fluke leche de tigre.
North Fork and Shelter Island Dining
Photo courtesy of Duryea's Orient Point
Duryea's Orient Point
Orient Point
You’ll want to sit outside here, if you can. Duryea’s is right on the water and the menu vibe is distinctly “coastal Greece.” Think baby calamari, falafel gyro, and deep-fried red snapper with a Greek Thai salad.
Pro tip: If you want to linger on the beach here, be sure to make a reservation for the beach club, too.
Claudio's Waterfront
Greenport
Head here for an all-day menu of coastal fare, from Connecticut lobster rolls and fried clam strips to coconut shrimp with pina colada sauce. They just opened a Bahamas location, too, if you find yourself there.
Léon 1909 – Shelter Island
Shelter Island Heights
Should you find yourself out on Shelter Island, consider stopping by. The cooking here is a nod to Provence: think buttered Montauk shrimp with salted bergamot and soft-shell crab with green garlic tartar sauce. The wine list leans to the Old World, and the cocktails are classic.
Little Fish
Southold
It’s one of our favorite spots in the North Fork, that combines everything you’d want to see (and eat). Applying slow food principles and sourcing the freshest ingredients, Little Fish celebrates the best of coastal cuisines from around the world. Think monkfish tikka masala or swordfish Milanese for dinner, and green goddess crab salad or a big eye tuna poke bowl for lunch.
Sparkling Pointe
Southold
Located in the small town of Southold on the North Fork, Sparkling Pointe is a vineyard and winery spread across 40 acres with a specific focus on sparkling wines. Consider stopping by for a visit to these bubbly specialists to taste some of their many varietals.
Minnow At The Galley Ho
New Suffolk
Easily accessible by motorboat or sailboat, it doesn’t get much better when it comes to a water view than here. More than the views, though, you’ll also find some incredible seafood on the menu, all of which is caught only by line, trap, spear, or hand. Think fresh local oysters, fish and ginger empanadas, crispy fish almondine, and much more.
