New York, New York _is_ a wonderful town, and in between museum visits, ball games, Broadway shows, and strolls through the park, we highly encourage you to make space in your NYC travel itinerary for a stellar lineup of meals. Because, let’s face it, the matter of where to eat should always be top of mind, especially in New York.

We also know that New York trips tend to be a whirlwind. So let’s say you’ve only got 72 hours — Friday morning to Sunday evening — to eat and drink your way through the city. Where to begin?

We have ideas — which we’ve organized below to maximize a long weekend in town. And you can also check our [Hit List](https://blog.resy.com/category/the-hit-list/?city=new-york) of the top 20 restaurants to dine at in New York right now, as well as [our guides](https://blog.resy.com/category/guides/?city=new-york) for so much else.

Your perfect plan is just ahead.

_P.S. Our itinerary doesn’t include any pizza spots, but we highly encourage you to grab a slice whenever the mood strikes. Here’s an [extensive guide](https://blog.resy.com/ultimate-guides/best-pizza-nyc/) to help you locate a few choice stops._

#### Power (Walk to) Lunch

Work up an appetite by taking a digestive walk on the High Line, a nearly 1.5-mile-long elevated park that runs from the Meatpacking District to Hudson Yards. Your reward once you reach the end? A bowl of chef [Andrew Carmellini’s](https://blog.resy.com/2023/10/andrew-carmellini/) impeccable **pasta**. We’re especially fond of the **ravioli**, inspired by the chef’s own nonna, but you honestly can’t go wrong with any of the pastas on the menu, and an order of **fritto misto** to start. This is also one restaurant where dessert is a non-negotiable, especially when it comes to the **olive oil torta** or **grapefruit and Campari**. Trust us.

### [Pebble Bar](/content/cities/new-york-ny/venues/pebble-bar?venueId=58751/index.html) Midtown

#### Pre-Theater Drinks

If you’ve got Broadway tickets and want to grab a drink before heading to your show, consider stopping by this multi-story townhouse near Rockefeller Center that was once home to the legendary Hurley’s. It’s where notable New Yorkers like John Belushi, David Letterman, and Johnny Carson called themselves regulars, and today, it’s still got plenty of star power: Pete Davidson, Justin Theroux, and Jason Sudeikis are just some of the bar’s investors. The [classically inclined cocktails](https://blog.resy.com/2022/06/best-classic-cocktails-new-york/) are serious (in a good way), and the food menu leans toward the lighter side: Think **oysters**, **shrimp cocktail**, and **deviled eggs**.

### [Golden HOF – Korean Bar & Grill](/content/cities/new-york-ny/venues/golden-hof?venueId=84778/index.html) Midtown

#### K-Town Adjacent

You might be starving by the time your show ends (or maybe not given the previous stops on this itinerary) and if it’s early enough, we highly recommend indulging in some excellent Korean American pub fare right by Rockefeller Plaza. [Chef Samuel Yoo’s](https://blog.resy.com/2025/02/golden-hof-ny-kimchi/) creative and deft interpretations of the foods he’s grown up with here in New York and encountered in Korea are truly something special. Start with the **cilantro and cucumber salad** dressed in a burnt sesame gochugaru vinaigrette, and then make your way into the heartier options on the menu: textbook **Korean fried chicken wings**; juicy prime **steak frites**; and **spicy rice cake carbonara**. Whatever you order, do save room for an order of the famous Golden Diner **honey butter pancakes** (served here in mini form) for dessert. P.S. The restaurant closes at 11 p.m. on Fridays.

### Headed to Queens?

If your visit to New York includes a stop at Citi Field to catch a Mets game, or later this year to the U.S. Open, consider yourself very lucky, indeed. Queens, a.k.a. “the world’s borough” is one of the best places in the entire city for eating well, and we’ve got plenty of suggestions for you:

- Explore Flushing Chinatown [like a local](https://blog.resy.com/2020/08/the-resy-guide-to-flushing-chinatown-by-those-who-love-it-best/).
- Take yourself on a [Mexican food crawl](https://blog.resy.com/2021/09/new-york-has-incredible-mexican-food-heres-where-to-find-it/) along Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights and Corona.
- Get some stellar Taiwanese food over at [Taiwanese Gourmet](https://www.instagram.com/taiwanesespecialties/?hl=en) in Elmhurst. (P.S. It’s cash only.)

- Check out New York State Senator and mayoral candidate Jessica Ramos’ [personal favorite spots](https://blog.resy.com/2020/11/the-ultimate-guide-to-queens-according-to-jessica-ramos/) in her home borough.
- Headed to MoMA PS1? Check out all the great places to eat in and around [Long Island City](https://blog.resy.com/2025/07/best-eats-lic-nyc/).
- Headed to the Noguchi Museum or the Museum of the Moving Image? Check out these spots in [Astoria](https://blog.resy.com/2024/08/best-eats-astoria-nyc/).
- Devise your own Thai food crawl in Elmhurst. A few suggestions? [Playground Thai](https://www.facebook.com/PlaygroundRestaurant) (technically in Jackson Heights); [Ayada Thai](https://www.ayadanyc.com/queensmenu/); and [Hug Esan](https://www.hugesannyc.net/).
